Abstract

Maluku Utara quarter I-2018 based on the amount of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices reaching Rp 8 536.9 billion and based on constant 2010 prices reaching Rp 61 515 million.

The economy of Maluku Utara in quarter I-2018 when compared to the first quarter-2017 (y-on-y) grew 7.98 percent. In terms of production, growth is driven by all business fields, with the highest growth achieved by Industrial Processing Fields which grew by 30.99 percent. On the expenditure side, the highest growth was achieved by the Foreign Exports Component, which grew by 171.95 percent.

The economy of Maluku Utara in quarter I-2018 compared to the previous quarter (q-to-q) decreased by 0.10 percent. From the production side, the decline is caused by the contraction occurring in several business fields. Meanwhile, the expenditure side was caused by a contraction in the Government Consumption Expenditure Component (minus 32.45 percent) and Gross Fixed Capital Formation (minus 24.47 percent).
