Abstract

The Consumer Tendency Index (ITK) of North Maluku Province in the third quarter of 2018 amounted to 98.13, meaning that the economic conditions of consumers declined compared to the previous quarter. The level of consumer optimism in quarter III-2018 was lower than the previous quarter (index value 129.95).
  • The decline in economic conditions felt by consumers in the third quarter of 2018 was driven by a decline in household income with an index value of 97.50 and a decrease in the volume of consumption of goods / services with an index value of 92.09. While purchasing power as seen from the inflation influence index does not affect the level of consumption with an index value of 104.08.
  • The ITK value of North Maluku Province in the fourth quarter of 2018 is estimated at 98.59, the condition of the consumer economy in the coming quarter is expected to decline.
  • The decline in economic conditions in quarter IV-2018 was due to an estimated decline in the planned purchase of durable goods, while household income slightly increased with an index of 100.55.
