Abstract

In September 2018, the level of inequality in North Maluku's population expenditure as measured by the Gini Ratio was 0.336, up by 0.008 points from the March 2018 condition of 0.328. This shows that the level of expenditure inequality in North Maluku Province tends to be higher.
  • The Gini Ratio in North Maluku Province is the lowest 11th out of 34 provinces in Indonesia. The provinces with the lowest inequality are the Province of Bangka Belitung, while the Province with the highest inequality is the Province of Yogyakarta Special Region.
  • The Gini Ratio in urban areas in September 2018 was 0.308, down 0.036 points compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2018 of 0.345. While the Gini Ratio in rural areas in September 2018 was 0.277, up 0.011 points compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2018 which was 0.266.
  • Distribution of expenditure for the lowest 40 percent population in North Maluku Province in September 2018 is equal to 20.10 percent and is included in the category of low inequality. If detailed by region, the distribution of expenditure for the lowest 40 percent population in urban areas is 20.34 percent while in rural areas it is 23.42 percent.
