Abstract

In March 2018, the level of inequality of Maluku Utara population expenditure as measured by Gini Ratio was 0.328 down by 0.002 points from the condition of September 2017 of 0.330. This shows that the level of inequality of expenditure in Maluku Utara Province is lower.
  • Gini Ratio in Maluku Utara Province is the seventh lowest of 34 provinces in Indonesia. Province with the lowest inequality of Bangka Belitung Province, while the province with the highest imbalance is the Special Region of Yogyakarta Province.
  • Gini Ratio in urban areas in March 2018 amounted to 0.345 up by 0.007 points compared to Gini Ratio September 2017 of 0.338. While the Gini Ratio in rural areas in March 2018 amounted to 0.266 down 0.011 points compared to Gini Ratio September 2017 which amounted to 0.277.
  • The distribution of expenditure of the lowest 40 percent population group in Maluku Utara Province in March 2018 was 20.69 percent and included in the category of low inequality. If detailed by region, the distribution of expenditure of the lowest 40 percent population group in urban areas is 19.13 percent while in rural areas by 23.79 percent.
