Abstract

The work force in August 2018 was 541.4 thousand people. The largest workforce is in South Halmahera Regency, which is 107.3 thousand people.

The population working in North Maluku in August 2018 was 515.6 thousand people. The most working population is in South Halmahera Regency, which is 102.9 thousand people.

The August 2018 Work Force Participation Rate (TPAK) amounted to 65.21 percent. The highest TPAK was recorded in Pulau Taliabu District, which was 73.75 percent.

August 2018 Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) of 4.77 percent. The lowest TPT was recorded in West Halmahera Regency, which was 3.26 percent.

In August 2018, 66.76 percent of the population worked in informal activities.

The Agriculture, Plantation, Forestry, Hunting and Fisheries sectors absorb the most labor from the working population, which is 235.8 thousand people.

In August 2018, there were 30.56 percent of the population working not full (working hours less than 35 hours a week), covering 7.78 percent half unemployed and 22.78 percent part-time workers.
