Abstract

A. EXPORT DEVELOPMENT

The export value of Maluku Utara Province in August 2018 was US $ 95.05 million, an increase of 31.43 percent compared to July 2018 which was valued at US $ 72.32 million.

Maluku Utara exports in August 2018 were in the form of iron and steel goods (HS 72) and ore, crust and metal ash (HS 26) to China, South Korea and Ukraine.

Cumulatively, Maluku Utara exports from January to August 2018 amounted to US $ 434.26 million, an increase of 236.51 percent compared to the January-August 2017 period of US $ 129.05 million.

Cumulatively, Maluku Utara's export volume from January to August 2018 was 6.86 million tons, an increase of 722.67 percent compared to January-August 2017 which amounted to 834.17 thousand tons.

Indonesia's export value in August 2018 reached US $ 15.82 billion, a decrease of 2.90 percent compared to exports in July 2018. While compared to August 2017 it increased 4.15 percent.

Cumulatively, Indonesia's export value from January to August 2018 reached US $ 120.10 billion, an increase of 10.39 percent over the same period in 2017

B. IMPORT DEVELOPMENT

The import value of Maluku Utara Province in August 2018 was US $ 7.40 million, a decrease of 61.18 percent compared to July 2018 which was valued at US $ 19.05 million.

The volume of Maluku Utara imports in August 2018 amounted to 5.24 thousand tons or decreased by 25.72 percent compared to July 2018 which amounted to 7.05 thousand tons.

In August 2018, Maluku Utara Province imported 21 categories of goods with the largest import value in the category of furniture, home lighting (HS 94) worth US $ 4.35 million.

Maluku Utara imported goods in August 2018 come from China, Singapore and Japan.

The value of imports of Maluku Utara in January-August 2018 was US $ 139.87 million, an increase of 89.57 percent compared to imports from January to August 2017 worth US $ 73.79 million.

The volume of Maluku Utara imports from January to August 2018 amounted to 243.68 thousand tons or an increase of 49.09 percent compared to the same period in 2017.

Indonesia's import value in August 2018 reached US $ 16.84 billion, down 7.97 percent compared to July 2018, on the contrary if compared to August 2017 it increased 24.65 percent.
